In design, lighting has a large impact on the feel of a space. It can set a mood and even change the perceived size of the space. This year at Paris Design Week, several lighting designers are highlighted. Below are just a few that I feel are exceptional at their craft and have created pieces that are a seamless combination of functionality and style.
Created by Jacque Barret, a landscape architect, Triode Gallery was founded in 2004. The gallery serves as a creative treader for American design showcasing the work of young designers as well as working with such designers in collaboration to create unique lighting and furniture pieces.

Fluff by Tangent is a lighting system comprised of floating luminous balloon-like structures. Designed by Hideki Yoshimoto and Yoshinaka Ono, the pieces change color and rhythm of their light according to the sounds surrounding them. These luminous floating systems create dramatic spaces and a whole new experience with lighting.
